I made and sold my first creation at the age of 12! This was
after spotting a gap in the market for bead curtains in my home town
of Manchester, UK. I have been creative in one form or another since
then.
I discovered my passion for bookmaking in 1999. I
enjoyed it initially as a hobby thereby giving myself time to
serve my apprenticeship whilst keeping the day job. In 2007 I
decided it was time to make my hobby into a full time business. I
converted my garage into a functioning studio and Book Art Studios
was born.
I would describe my style as messy and eclectic -
surprising myself as much as anyone else when a new book or journal
is created. My experiences of growing up in Manchester, time spent
living in Jamaica, travelling extensively around the world, and
being a mother are all strong influences which are channelled
into my books and journals.

My bookmaking highlight so far is receiving the judges choice award for my entry "Book Mug" in the 2006 Portage Mug Awards at the Upstairs Gallery in Titirangi.
