An artist at play

I can't begin to stress how important it is to simply play. As adults we don't always recognise the importance of it and how it benefits us in so many ways.

As an artist, play is a massive component in my work.

The more playful I am the more delicious the work is that I produce.

One of the places I like to go to is Cornwallis beach in West Auckland, New Zealand.

It ticks a lot of boxes, play, Mother Nature, exercise and photography.

I don't know why. But things like this just make me laugh!

So of course I had to try it again.

Sometimes it's just nice to be still and let the nature come to you.

This particular day at the beach, the white shells really stood out

and looked magnificent.

I spent ages just wandering around and been delighted by the gifts

Mother Nature bestowed on us.

And then, oh my, I felt like I was in a scene from Snow White where the birds are all flying around her head! VERY hard to film, but how delightful to walk through a particular part of the beach where the fantails love to play.

Sounds are just as nourishing as the other senses,

the crunch of the shells underfoot were delightful.

I always come back from the beach feeling nourished and ready to play!
